In "Back to This Place: Mount Analogue," artist Jang Bo-yun explores the interplay of essays and photography, interjecting herself into images derived from the photographs of others. The work features a video installation titled "Meeting Place," a mockumentary script that weaves together fiction and reality through interviews with various people she encountered in Gyeongju. In these interviews, each participant shares their own narrative and the personal significance they find in Gyeongju's Namsan Mountain. Through this process, Jang imbues Namsan with new metaphorical meaning—akin to the "mythical mountain" in René Daumal’s novel—representing a profound intersection of life and art.
